VDOT Final Notice Scam Text! Don’t Fall for This Toll Fraud!

Have you received a text message claiming to be a final notice from VDOT about unpaid tolls? If so, don’t rush to pay—this is a scam!

Scammers are sending fake messages to people, pretending to be from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), in an attempt to steal money and personal information.

The message states something like this:
“VDOT Final Reminder:
Outstanding Toll Due Your account has a pending toll balance of $3.99. Avoid service restrictions-pay today!”

🔴 Here’s why This is A SCAM:

➡️ Random text messages demanding immediate toll payments
➡️ Suspicious links ending in .vip or other strange domains
➡️ No official letter or notice sent by mail
➡️ Request for payment through a sketchy website instead of an official government portal
➡️ You haven’t driven through Virginia, but you supposedly owe toll fees

🚨 How to Stay Safe:
➡️ Never click on unexpected links in text messages
➡️ Always verify toll payments through the official VDOT website
➡️ Check your toll balance directly with your state’s transportation agency
➡️ Report the scam to authorities and warn others

Stay alert, stay safe, and always double-check before making any payments online.
